Where we come from
OWNML was founded by Louis Dorard, after years spent designing and delivering ML systems in real organizations. One pattern became obvious early on: ML success is rarely a modeling problem. It’s a design and alignment problem.
To address this, Louis created the Machine Learning Canvas in 2015 — a visual framework that helps business, data, and engineering teams design ML solutions together, end to end.
From canvas to framework
Over time, the Machine Learning Canvas was adopted by 15,000+ professionals worldwide, through consulting, training, and international conferences.
That accumulated field experience was later distilled into a structured, repeatable system. The OWNML framework was born, providing a practical way for teams to design, validate, and deliver ML systems that create real business impact.
